The department has the appropriate licenses for teh latest STAAD Pro software from Bentley, along with all the necessary modules.

1. Survey Lab
Objectives

  To have the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to understand the measurement techniques and equipment used in land surveying.

  To gain an appreciation of the need for lifelong learning through the discussion of recent changes in survey procedures and equipment.

  To have the ability to use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

  To have the ability to function as a member of a team

  To understand the importance of professional licensure to protect the public in the practice of land surveying.

2. Strength of Materials Lab
Objectives

To demonstrate the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis through a series of experiments.

To know the Properties of the materials for designing the durable components structures

3. Auto CAD Laboratory
Objectives

  To enable students to create basic 2D drawing in AutoCAD.

  To ensure all the commands in AutoCAD software.

  To draw the cross-sections, elevations and plans of buildings.

  To draw doors and windows for building elevation.

4. Engineering Geology Laboratory
Objectives

  To understand the role of geology in the design and construction process of underground openings in rock.

  To apply geologic concepts and approaches on rock engineering projects.

  To identify and classify rock using basic geologic classification systems.

  To use the geologic literature to establish the geotechnical framework needed to properly design and construct heavy civil works rock projects.

  To identify and characterize intact rock/rock mass properties.

5. Fluid mechanics and Hydraulic Machinery Laboratory
Objectives

  To study the phenomena and effects of flow of fluids and polymers by using experimental measurements.

  Acquire the understanding of fluid mechanics system.

  To determine the fluid characteristic velocity and distance.

6. Geotechnical EngineeringLaboratory
Objectives

  To provide civil engineering students with the basic knowledge to carry out field investigations and to identify soils in geotechnical engineering practice.

  To educate civil engineering students in performing and interpreting laboratory tests for evaluating subgrade performance and for pavement design.

  Unconfined compression testing machine.

  Consolidation testing machine, Automatic compactor.

  Direct shear testing machine, Vane Shear Apparatus.

7. Concrete Technology Laboratory
Objectives

  To know the testing and inspection of concrete and concrete aggregates in obtaining quality construction.

  To assess the various fresh and hardened concrete properties that may affect the performance of concrete members.

Equipments

  Concrete Technology Laboratory: Vicat's Needle Apparatus, Variable Flow Air Permeability Apparatus, Le Chatlier Apparatus, Slump test Apparatus, Compaction Factor apparatus, Longitudal Compressometer, Motorised Sieve Shaker, Planetary Mixer, Vibration Machine and Bulking of Sand Apparatus etc.

 
8. Transporation Engineering Laboratory
Objectives

  To know the testing and inspection of concrete and concrete aggregates in obtaining quality construction.

  To study the behavior of various highway materials like bitumen using experiments

Equipments

  Transportation Engineering Laboratory: Deval's Attrition testing Machine, Aggregate Impact Testing Machine, Los-Angles Abrasion Testing Machine, Shape test equipment, Ductility testing machine, Penetrometer etc.

 
9. Environmental Engineering Laboratory
Objectives

  To perform various tests on drinking water and sewage samples to check pH value, total dissolved solids, BOD and COD, total suspended particles etc. as per BIS standard.

  It helps in to assess the water quality standard of the region, pollution load in sewage and working efficiency of sewage and other water treatment unit.

  PH meter, turbidity meter and conductivity meter.

10. Advance Concrete Technology Laboratory
Objectives

  To determine the quality of concrete using compressive strength of concrete, tensile strength of concrete, workability test, design mix, modulus of rupture of concrete.

  To know the physical properties of cement and concrete.
